Updated Snowfall Accumulation Forecast

5:00 p.m.

So you see what that northward trend did to our snowfall map. Anytime you add ice into the equation, forecasting snowfall amounts become even trickier. I did add Jasper County in the 10 to 14 inch band. The areas to the north that see less ice will certainly pick up the heaviest snowfall. Notice here in Tippecanoe County we are going to be closer to the 8 to 10 inch range and with blowing and drifting snow we will easily have snow drifts over 4 feet high. This storm has really not even begun and remember to slow down this evening because the icy mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow will put down a light coating of ice that will make travel treacherous.

You can see the icy mess starting to glaze up the Prangley grill.

Hey mike, keep up the good work, weather predicting is not as easy as it seems, looking at the latest water vapor imagery, there is still alot left out west,I say there will be 10 inches on the ground by morning as the storm really gets going in a few hrs.So all snow lovers have faith, there will be alot to shovel Sun morning and with all the wind coming later tonight lots of big drifts.

for all those people who feel Mike doesn't know what he's talking about. I want to remind to that Mike was the first one to predict the snow storm in February. While the weather station was predicting 3-5 inches, Mike predicted closer to what we actually had. I think he has done a great job. Keep it up, but don't where yourself out to much.

The problem is that missing the forecast this much cost us...Financially I understand the fact that safety is the most important thing..But is it safe to go out in the weather to get supplies for no reason???And Ya wonder about all the people spending money to be safe. They may not have it this time of year!!!Not to mention the embarrassment of all your fellow workers who look up to you for weather facts this time of year!!!Ive told them all day!!! Record snow falls yes it does get personal....It cost a lot of people where work a lot of extra work for nothing...Who has bread store stock raise your hand>>>>
