Tornado Watch Until 3 a.m. As T-Storm Line Explodes to Our South and West

Live Doppler 18 is tracking storms into our viewing area at 10:45 p.m. near Covington and eventually toward Attica by 11 p.m.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EDT WEDNESDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...CARROLL, CLINTON, FOUNTAIN, HOWARD, MONTGOMERY, TIPPECANOE AND WARREN COUNTIES. LIVE DOPPLER 18 IS SHOWING SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN ILLINOIS THAT WILL TRACK INTO THE LAFAYETTE VIEWING AREA INCLUDING WARREN AND FOUNTAIN COUNTIES BETWEEN 10:30 P.M. AND 11:00 P.M. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING EAST AT 30 TO 40 MPH. STAY TUNED TO WLFI AND WLFI.COM FOR MORE INFORMATION.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms which can produce damaging wind, large hail, and tornadoes.

Live coverage from a news chopper in KC,Missouri, where a lightning strick has ignited an above ground gasoline storage tank at a fuel company. The complex is right next to the GM plant in Fairfield and the tank is one of 4 that are filled with fuel oil, diesel fuel, and jet fuel.
