Large Hail, Lightning, & Downpours Main Threats

There is a ray of hope for us! There are two lines of storms that have developed here in Indiana and it looks like the stronger line will be from Interstate 70 southward and it may steal some of the energy from our line moving through. Still stay prepared, but for now the news is good. We are still picking up dime size hail on Live Doppler 18 moving quickly into Warren County.

Looking to my west I can see the storms starting to move into lafayette here by the fair grounds.
looking at the lightning tracker the lightning is negative strikes so far.
Storms moveing ENE at around 25 to 30 MPH.
Tippecanoe and white counties be ready as well as carroll, fountain, warren, and vermillion co stay safe. Expect large hail and strong wind.

I tried to get on here when the storm was coming in, but the page wouldn't load. Anyways, I did see rotation in one of the clouds that was rolling over West Lafayette and Lafayette.

Too bad I don't have a working camera, or I would've taken a great photo. Besides the silly whispy scud clouds that came in...there were what looked like 3 large wall clouds I could see out west from the top of my apt. building...any of them looked like they could've spawned a tornado, but the middle one was rotating and the sky was getting green.

It looked like that famous double tornado picture, only with 3 clouds, none of them touching the ground.

There have been reports of 64 MPH wind gusts just 7 miles south of Lafayette.

justin, how do you get your local reports? i get storm reports from a program called "Storm Now" that are published as soon as NWS issues them, but they have to be turned in by "trained spotters". Do you have a police scanner that you hear local reports on?

Just curious. I only recorded .10 from our rainfall. William did you receive more than this? It got really dark but has lightened up now.

What is in store for the rest of the night? I hope to get some good sleep and then get up and PAINT PAINT PAINT all weekend ! PLEASE say they are over and from what I have seen it seems that storms will most likely be to our east tomorrow ??? Please sombody give me good news and have a GREAT Weekend !

Well romney scaredy cat you can sleep with ease there are no more storms to deal with tonight now there is a slight chance we could see some more strong stroms tomorrow like mike said between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

Sounds like you are getting better and are doing the right thing by getting into your safe spot.
Keep up the good work and hope you get your house painted soon :)
