Hail, Heavy Rain, and Lightning on Live Doppler 18 as of 11:27 p.m.

Update as of 3:24 a.m.

Kelly Greene has arrived and she was amazed at all the lightning and heavy rain coming into work. The tornado watch has been extended at 11 a.m. so we will keep you updated. Great job to all the bloggers! I will post some pics of the tornado and radar here on the blog before getting a little sleep.

Update as of 1:34 a.m.

WEATHER TEAM 18 WEATHER ALERT: A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR MONTGOMERY AND SOUTHERN TIPPECANOE COUNTY UNTIL 1:45 A.M. NO SEVERE WEATHER HAS BEEN REPORTED AT THIS TIME AND LIVE DOPPLER 18 IS NOT SHOWING ANY SEVERE WEATHER. OUR WATCHES AMD WARNINGS MAY BE CANCELED SHORTLY.

Update as of 1:09 a.m.

WEATHER TEAM 18 WEATHER ALERT: A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING is in effect for MONTGOMERY AND SOUTHERN TIPPECANOE COUNTY. This storm has the potential of producing small hail and vivid lightning. It has not had a history of producing severe weather. The tornado warning for FOUNTAIN and WARREN Counties has been canceled as expected. NO TORNDOES OR FUNNEL CLOUDS WERE SIGHTED OR REPORTED!

Update as of 12:49 a.m.

Tornado Warning for northern Fountain and South-Central Warren County is DOPPLER INDICATED.....which means no confirmations have been received of any tornadoes, but you still need to be in your designated safe location....our latest Live Doppler 18 scans is showing slight rotation, but no strong tornado signature at this time. If this should change we will cut in with the very latest. Right now we will continue to watch it closely but it is behaving just like the other thunderstorms have before it and Precision 18 is not showing any rotation at all for now. Let's keep it that way.

Update as of 12:35 a.m.

No changes and no further storm reports....we have a warning in Fountain and southern Warren County for small hail. Things will hopefully be improving over the next hour. The worst part of this storm will be near West Lebanon at 12:40 a.m.

Romney Scaredy Cat,stay calm for your childrens sake! Are you new to this area? We have some mighty strong storms here, AS I stated I am the worst when it comes to storms, I just want to keep my love ones safe. So while they are sleeping I am watching and ready for the safty plan. My family used to think I was crazy too,I would pace from window to window. Take a deep breath and stay calm!!!! The storms will pass soon.

Thanks Garrett for the Fowler update! Good to have you aboard.

Remington was just grazed with that Fowler storm. I only recorded .06 rain with vivid lightning, but no CGs that I know of,. I received a WX statement saying the storms have weakened.

Scaredy Cat I have wasted a LOT of hours of sleep worrying about storms in my long lifetime. I have armed myself with all kinds of free radar programs, have a WX radio, belong to many wx groups online, read everything I can on severe weather, and trust Mike for updates :-)

Take care this will soon be over for tonight.

Romney Scaredy Cat, just stay on the computer and watch Letterman at the same time. Please dont worry, I used to be just like you. We can not control the weather, And we all have our fears, you will be fine, but remember this is just the beginning of summer and more storms to come. I my self had to face a monster of a tornado! Had a safe place now here I am watching listing and wondering, but not a fearful just cautious.
Bless Your Heart.

Mike, is this going to be going on for hours and hours or will push north soon? Thanks for the frequent updates!

We have a plug in weather radio with battery back up we bought at Best Buy, and we have a small walkie talkie size/style one we bought at Meijer. We keep the main radio in our bedroom and it is LOUD you can hear it through the whole house, the small one we take with us as we head to the basement. The small battery radio is annoying since it must be reprogrammed every time it needs new batteries.

Anonymous said...

I dont think this is going to be over anytime soon. I just lost power, and thanks to Justin my weather radio is now working, so I cannot run the battery out on my lap top, Strange the neighbors across the street have power, and I must be getting sig..from their wireless. off for now hope power comes back soon, sounded like a transformer.
