First June Since 2004 With No Named Storm Bodes Well for 4th Forecast!

Hi, it has been a few days since I checked in. I have plenty of pictures to post and stories to tell. First things first....we will NOT have a named storm in the month of June in the Atlantic basin for the first time since 2004 and this is great news when it comes to our 4th of July Weekend! We have tons of friends from Indiana on the way to Florida this weekend and without a tropical system to worry about this makes my forecast much easier and brighter. Usually this time of year if the tropics get busy it can ruin your trip to the Sunshine State but NOT this year. We also have to be weary of old frontal boundaries that die out over Florida this time of year but it looks like the front washing out over Florida today will have lost most of its punch by time we head into Friday and the holiday weekend. So for now I will give the all clear to all my Indiana friends. I also just talked to my sister Shelli and Wisconsin and oh how jealous I am of her having the windows open with a fresh breeze in OshKosh. I do think the 90 degree weather will be history for much of the Midwest including Lafayette for at least a couple weeks, but it should still be warm enough to take a nice swim at Tropicanoe Cove. I will have more details on this. For now though it is family first. We are heading to the pool. I will be working with Megan on laps and Lauren on her swimming. Abbey will hopefully get some of her energy out....LOL

Have a great day!!!

Hey Mike, thought you might like to see this..

Due to the chilly weather conditions the pools at Tropicanoe Cove, Castaway Bay, and Vinton Pool have announced they are closed for July 1.

Temp in Laf is 64* with a low expected of 49* tonight

Great sleeping weather, and wonderful for outside work

We did away with the shorts yesterday and today and put on light weight sweats!

Feels like April out! Glad to give the AC a break, yet we really have not have had summer like weather in Indiana, yes we did have a heat wave, but severe storms with it.

Looks like you are all enjoying the weather in Florida, have fun swimming, We have not gone once this summer.

I like your mantras, mine is just one foot then the other, one foot in front of the other, and that is just for my few mile walks LOL

Mike...what a relief to have the windows open and snuggle UNDER the covers at night!

It feels like fall and I love it!

WOW where are you? Hope all is well? Strange for you not to blog or at least say you'll be away for awhile....yes you still have many bloggers that read your posts even if we don't comment! God Bless Kathy

Chad is doing a good job, but he goes for more maps and less commentary. I miss your comments on the weather, your family, and life in general. Twitter is nice, but please keep on blogging.

Chad's blog does not make sense to the average person looking to make weekend plans. It is very disorganizied. Maybe he needs some blog training. Mike's blog flows nicely and is a great resource. I do not even go to Chad's blog anymore, I find it a blur of maps.

All ya have to do is tweet! the new wave, no thank you! I dont care that the kids are using spf50 sunscreen, and Mike doesnt care about updating his blog.too many friends on twitter!

He made promises to post pictures of Lafayette Indiana Weather many have submitted, and has not...he forgot use already, we are not as important as he made us appear to be to him.

At least we have Chad

Cut Mike some slack, he is enjoying his new life. Who wouldn't? Complaining about a lack of updates just makes it appear as if you don't appreciate all of the previous updates to his blog. Enjoy what you have while you have it and appreciate it when it is gone. Complaining about Mike certainly doesn't seem like a great way to encourage him to post a new update.

Keeping up a weather blog takes a lot of time and work however when you get those nice comments it makes it all worth it! That and knowing your keeping everyone updated and calm!

That is what ut us all about! Let mike take his time!

Mike We miss you. Are you coming to the Zoo Run Run This Year???? It is coming up you know! ;]

Hi Mike,, we sure miss you, was happy to see that you are blogging, are you working anywhere yet, besides at home which by all means is a job in itself, and sounds like you are doing a great one at that.. love and miss ya....

Congrats on the new job, Mike. Hopefully it will make you as happy as what you appeared to be at WLFI. Times change, but losing you was a big negative for Lafayette. Hope that everyone in the Jacksonville area will appreciate your weathercasts as much as we did.

Your biggest fans at Meadowlawn Elementary miss your posts. We will continue getting out our "snow clothes" to honor your love of a great snowstorm!

Chad is doing a fine job, but we miss the personal feeling you always added to the blog.

We just happen to know a great realtor in Jacksonville...if you are in need of one!

Would love an update on your blog, we don't even need your in depth weather, just your wit and wisdom is what keeps a lot of us going. WLFI is nothing without you, never watch anymore.

I miss this blog. Please come back, Mike! I loved how you'd discuss the long term forecasts and that type of thing. Please, please come back to this blog.
