Some of Us May Not See A Flake While Others Will Be Sledding

What a day.....is this forecast a tough one! You bet, but I like challenges. To give you an idea of what I am dealing with....one model has southeastern Tippecanoe County with about 3" of snow while just across the river into West Lafayette there could be only a dusting. This big cut-off in snowfall will be due to a transfer of energy to an eastern low pressure on Saturday morning. If nature fumbles this hand-off we could see a lot more snow here in our viewing area. So remember these numbers are not even close to being set in stone and I will certainly keep you updated this evening.

Here is what I have for now:

Kokomo in at 5"
Peru 4"
Logansport 3"
Crawfordsville 3"
Lafayette 2"
Delphi 2"
Monticello 2"
Attica 2"
Benton, Newton, & Jasper Counties 1" or less

This is mainly for tomorrow night and Saturday morning, although you will see some light snow at times on Friday afternoon.

If you are traveling to Indianapolis tomorrow it does not look like things will get real bad down there until after 10 p.m. at night...Six or more inches of snow is likely in a line from Bloomington to Indianapolis up to Marion and Fort Wayne.

Woohoo! More snow!
Mike, can you change your weather blog so the most recent post is on the TV18 website? We have Websense at work and the weather blog hosting site is considered "social" or "lifestyles." I think your blog is better than the official forecast. You show us more maps, the potentials, and the reasons. You also keep the blog updated more often than the TV18 website.

Keep the snow coming!!!

Thanks.

P.S. I meant to ask you about moving/copying the blog tonight at the music performance, but I knew you needed to get back to the station.

I just checked the Weather Underground NEXRAD and this storm is making some SERIOUS noise off the Texas coast.
Let's hope it still has most of that energy when it gets here.
Unfortunately, its current vector will definitely keep it well south of us. Come on, La Nina! Kick it north!

Mike-you are the best! I also like to check the maps on www.weatherbug.com. They are saying 4 inches total. NWS has not issued any Winter Storm Watch for us yet.

Please Mike keep the snow away from us (sorry to all you snow lovers). We are sick of snow and are ready for spring. Just this morning my daughter was riding her bike before school and saying she cant wait until spring so she can start wearing flip flops. I think the kids are ready too. Everyone be careful tomorrow.

accuweather is forecasting 1.6 inches for lafayette.. but as mike says I'm sure that this will change and i have a strange feeling that it will be a lower number.

Unless the storm changes its vector SOON, we won't see much of anything. It's moving more easterly now than it was before.

glad this one has missed us! I too am tired of the snow and winter. You also remined us to change our time: The changing of our time only serves to confuse me......do folks that make these decisions realize that Indiana is not in the east?? We are not in the EAST folks! ok, i feel better.
On another note, at day break while shoveling out AGAIN this Wednesday, I sighted the most beautiful sight of a red cardinal sitting in a tree of white background. I am hearing Robins out as well. AHH spring!
Mike, you provide an excellent service with enthusiasm, character and personality. right or wrong, i look for your news cast and read the blog almost daily. thank you for your dedication!
