Second Snow Band of Snow on the Way
Latest Precision 18....the areas outlined in the 3 to 6 inch total snowfall forecast earlier on the blog still holds....latest trends show another band of heavier snow filling in from Fountain and Warren County and heading toward Tippecanoe, Montgomery, and Clinton Counties.....We are up to 3 inches of total of snowfall here at WLFI....with 2.5 inches of the snow late this afternoon and early evening. I still think another 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible around the area, especially before midnight. The mesoband of snow that developed over Tippecanoe County was the equivalent of a summer thunderstorm that pops up with daytime heating. Good job to everybody out there that stayed on their toes and kept their guard up! What a winter...I will check back.

We have 3 inches on the north side of our house with deep drifts along a fence line south, What I could read since the snow was blowing in my face was near 6 inches. I had a hard time opening my front door which faces east, crazy, crazy winter day. Looked like a blizzard for a while. I live near Columbian Park.
We live in Burrows and we have 6 1/2 inches,on the ground with drifts. We also have sleet falling with the snow, and It looks like a blizzard out there. Thanks Mike for all the updates, it helps with all of us living in the country. Keep up the good work!!!!!!.

Okay TSC its your turn to call a delay, or do we have to wake and get our kids bundled only to find out when the bus is to arrive that there is a delay, why not let them slumper, and stay out of the winter wonderland a little bit longer? They stand on corners with no shelter, waiting for the school bus freezing for them should not be a must! Nor the bus drivers
you are doing a good job with the weather mike. tsc i think that you should call a delay or close the school tomorrow.
TSC has got to be one of the most rediculous schools around. Both high schools are located in the county and off of county roads that drift. It is rediculous to think that some teenagers have to drive over 10 miles on county roads on snow covered roads at 7:30.
I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TSC
KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE FROM THE WEATHER
HOWEVER YOU WILL SEND THEM HOME OR WRITE THEM UP IF THEY HAVE A TEAR IN THE KNEE OF THEIR JEANS, OR THEIR SWEATSHIRT IS A BIT TO LARGE, GET IT TOGETHER
haha lmao about the tear in the jeans its so true... lol
or TSC will just send them home a whopping 15 minutes early.. sometime you have to laugh at their stupidity
Ya know, LSC is just as bad, after an ice storm, there was no delay called, My car doors were frozen shut, when I finally got them open my car would not start, My child was truent due to the weather, the school showed no mercy. Some of us do not have a nice warm garage to park our cars in.
Parents should use their common sense. If you think it is too dangerous for your children to go to school, keep them home. You are the ones responsible for their safety, not the school. Keep them home if you are worried. Schools rely on your common sense too!
I have some very confused robins in my back tree line!!!! I hope this is the last big snow of the season....anyway,have a hot cocoa and snuggle in!!! And yes TSC, call the delay and be done with it!
While I agree that schools don't think very well in calling delays and closings there IS a thing called a bus. If your child can't drive in snow keep them off the roads so they don't hit ME. Why should school be called off because parents let their children drive when they shouldn't. BE A PARENT...or is that too much to ask?
TSC got their delay!
relax, do u people have anything else to do
and for all you haters of accuweather earlier....I guess they ended up being right after all didn't they??? HAHA
Some of us have to be at work and do not have the oppurtunities to haul around our kids to school and pick them up. The reason that they drive is because they have adfter school activities therefore they can't ride the bus.
Parent from LSC- My kid parks outside and managed to get his car cleaned off and to school on time. It is obvious that if their is bad weather that you need to allow extra time to get to school!!! I would say that over 80% of the kids that go to city schools are in walking distance!!!
My child wont walk to school when the temp is 10 below, and my special needs child cant walk
