There were two severe thunderstorm warnings in Indiana today for Kosciusko and Whitley Counties but it was Pulaski County in the Lafayette viewing area that got hit the hardest. Take a look at the storm reports below from the Storm Prediction Center:
4 p.m. EDT
MONTEREY in PULASKI COUNTY
TREES UPROOTED AND LANDED ON HOUSES. POWER LINES DOWN ACROSS MONTEREY. (IWX)
1 NNE NORTH MANCHESTER in WABASH COUNTY
TREES DOWN ON CARS (IWX)
The good news is no more severe weather is expected. Most of the lightning strikes I picked up in the area were located in Pulaski County and far northern Indiana between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. I will check to see if the line of storms bowed out just enough to bring those severe wind gusts to the surface. I will of course have more on this tonight at 11 p.m. If anybody has friends in the Monterey area tell them I am looking for stories and pictures. Thanks!
