Take a look at this report in from Pulaski County.
MEDARYVILLE PULASKI IN 4108 8689 POWER LINES DOWN AND BUILDING DAMAGE IN MEDARYVILLE (IWX)
Justin
It was a wind report
Justin
The blast blasted through Monticello and wasn't what I expected. I've been waiting on this storm for a few days and it looked like it was going to hit us really hard. The transition was fairly smooth.
That doesn't mean to let you guard down because it looks like we have more coming. Looks like Laf should be getting wet really soon.
Right now, its dark and raining pretty good. The winds have calmed way down and doesn't look as crazy as it was earlier.
I will be checking back in once we are out of the clear of that mess over in Champ.
Yes it is really really dark and no wind
Teri in laf

Justin, that Storm Predator looks like fun! I would love to get into that this Spring...maybe I can chat with you on what I need to do to get a personal weather station. :)
tornado warning for the counties that I just listed in the above counties
Yes Teri And this is because of a cell coming out of Fountain County! It will have to be watched closely! As strong winds! Could gust near 70 mph.
This is a strong system! Looks like it could clip south Tipppecanoe and montromery, County
Justin.
Sounds good Brow!
Justin
Tornado watch for south tippecanoe! ANd north fountain and montgomery county
Justin
There is rotation with this system and everybody in the watch needes to be ready and get to your safe spots! to be safe!
Justin
justin lafayette is a bit a way from the rotation so are we safe?
This system is moving just south of Lafayette in Tippecanoe County,
It is a tornado warning! Still rotation!
Justin
You always want to be safe it is just south of Lafayette so if you are in that area then be ready!
If you are north of that be ready but right now you look ok!
Justin
Justin, it is a tornado WARNING
The rotation is starting it move out of Tippecanoe county!
Lafayette is looking better but if you are in Clinton county you need to be on the lookout even though you are not in a warning yet!
Justin
TORNADO WARNING FOR CLINTON CO....
Yes it is!
Justin
THAT IS FOR NORTHEN CLINTON
Fountain county is now out of the tornado warning!
Justin
Things look better for Lafayette. Clinton County still needs to keep in their safe spots till this system lifts out of their area!
There is still a little rotation with it!
Justin
The wx radio is going crazy Poor Mike and Wolfe, warnings coming in every few mins. Now t-storms warnings, east of Tipp co..I am sure those two are hopping,
Thanks Mike and Brian for keeping us updated
Teri
Everybody doing OK??
There is still some rotation in the storm cells in Clinton County so if you live in that area please be safe and know that a tornado is possible! This dpes not mean you will see one it just means there is a chance!
Lafayette we look pretty good rotation wise! However we are still in this tornado warning till 6:pm so we will keep watching!
Justin
How are things you way Justin? winds knocked down some limbs where I am located.....just a heavy burst of rain...Keeping my fingers crossed for those who under the warnings right now...A friend of mine reported something intersting to me...will post soon....

As for Have I heard thunder no not really! I do have .48 of rain!
Justin.
Everyone ok? Man that was crazy...cannot believe it!
I am a little disappointed that the WLFI site didn't have the warning red bar going. :(
That stronger cell is now making it's way into Tipton County if you live in that area be safe and be ready!
Justin
The good news with this system is there still has not been any reported Tornados! As of now!
Lets just hope we can keep it that way!
Nothing really to report from my area here by the fairgrounds other then a lot of rain!

POLE BARN BLOWN OFF ITS FOUNDATION. TREES DOWN IN SOUTHWEST PART OF NAPPANEE
This is another wind report it sure was strong!!!!!
Justin
It looks like the strongest storms have moved out of our area!
Justin
I am up to .88 inch rain here in Remington at this location. Wind has calmed way down. Can't see the creek now that it is dark but I know it is pretty close to being out of the bank. I can see lights shining on the water from the street behind us.
MA
I'M now over a half inch with a current amount of .60" Inches of rain! Still coming down and will be for a while!
Glad things have calmed down! a bit! Mary anne keep in tuch with the creek and all!

MA
Where do you find the storm reports at?
From the SPC,
Justin
Anyone can access storm reports and severe weather statements at this link. Copy and paste into your web browser:
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/
On the left side of this page there are many areas of NOOA to go to. Click on any one of the links.
MA in REM
Thats the site I use to get my reports!
I'M up to .76" inches of rain!
I can't wait to see my final amount in the morning!
Justin in Lafayette
Looks like the southern part of the state is going to be in for some storms...I have a temp of 53* and a steady rain...
Gald all has calmed at bit for Laf..my friend who lives in WL has some wind damage. He had a car port that was coverd with a heavy tarp, held down by steaks in the ground and cinder blocks.
The wind caught the tarp and the cinder blocks went flying over his van like they were weightless..the tarp ended high in tree..wood frame of the car port was also blown down..He called me and asked if we had just had a tornado..stated sure sounded like so... and by the damage.. wow some strong winds!...
Teri in Laf
WOW Teri at least he is ok!
I to have a steady rain I'M now up to .84" Inch.
It just keeps coming down! But I will take rain over severe thunderstorms anyday!
This has really been a wild ride of weather! Indiana is for sure the place to be if you like wild weather just about every other day!
Justin in Lafayette
Thanks Justin and MA for the SPC info :-)
you got that right Justin, now to make it complete we need a blizzard:)I saw the highway dept out..looked like they were salting...couldnt be,
or could it?
Teri
My area has lots of tree damage. The SPC hasn't even reported that or are they supposed to?
I was driving home from fort wayne and the clouds scared me. Then I did see some boughts of really heaver rain i didnt know where to to go on 24 the is not much there. I made it home fine tho and they were saying on the radio that when the front comes thru temps will drop and i saw it drop 10.I have been sick all day today so let me tell u not one of my best days.
renee in laf.
Rennee, was scary looking, I could only imagine what it would have been like driving..Glad you made it safe and sound.....hope you feel better..
Teri in Laf
To the person who asked if SPC would report damage in their area---not unless someone, usually a trained spotter or CoCoRaHS reporter sends it in. I am an ESPOTTER, and also report through CoCoRaHS (which again anyone can do--they always are looking for wx observers so if you are interested, ask. Justin and I are both reporters.) meaning through the NWS I send in stats of storm damage, rainfall, etc and it gets posted. Everyone can be an espotter. Go to NWS-Indy
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ind/
and find the place where it says "send a report" and away you go! I have to go through Chicago as Jasper and Newton Counties are on the line between Chi and Indy (in other words NO man's land--we used to get left out alot)so they asked me to report to Chi. I sent in a report to LOT tonight and it was posted.
MA in REM
(up to 1.17 inches rain) Thank you God for no flooding rains.
Things are looking SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better on radars!!!!!! And mary Anne I'M glad to hear you are not seeing flooding rains! That is great new! ;-)
This has been a wild day! We seen Tornado watches and warnings. We seen severe Thunderstorm watches and warnings. We seen wind Advisories. And we still have flood warnings!
What a day!
Not to forget we hit a record high! Back in 1971 on this very day there was a high of 63* degrees! Today I had a high of 67* degrees.
In December! That ius something!
Have a great night bloggers!
Currently I have 1.08" Inch of rain! And it is still raining! I will post my final total on here in the morning!
Justin in Lafayette
hey everybody I'M seeing winds as a guess of at least 45 mph wind gusts if not more. I'M loseing power the lights keep going out for about 5 SEC and. The good thing is I have a lap top so I will have about an hour after the power go's out on Battery!
If I lose power I will let you all know!
And the wild Indiana weather just keeps coming! :-( Teri If you are up how are things your way??
Justin in Lafayette
I see a line of rain that is passing over our area! With this line there is a Nice size bow! In it!
WINDY WINDY WINDY! I also heard on the waether radio winds around 45 mph!
Justin in Lafayette
I've lost power just south of Lafayette twice, but then it comes back on. Hopefully it will stop soon.
just north of Remington, winds are 25 sustained and gusting to 45, temp down to 36 - another wild Indiana night!
Thats what happend to me Is I lost power twice! Then it came back on! It has stayed on for now and I'M happy about that! I think we will be ok as the line of rain that caused this wild wind is moving out of our area!
I was watching a movie with my sister when out of no where we started to hear this loud wind and thought I should check it out and come to find out we had a bow in the small rain system that was moving through!
Justin in Lafayette
The winds are starting to die off now! Still a little windy at times!
My current temperature is at 39.6* degrees. My total rainfall as of now is 1.12" Inches!
I will catch you all in the morning! Lets all hope the winds slow down and the power stays on!
Night!
Justin in Lafayette
Wow....had a wind gust at 49 mph at 1:50 a.m. It has been howling all night. Just had another gust at 32 mph. Temp at 29*
We do have some creek flooding. Not as bad as last Jan, thank you God!
