Slush Puppy Storm Not Done With Us Yet!

I think this describes what is going on well! I just got off the phone with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis and our ice storm warning will likely be downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory....ice accumulations have ranged from .10" to .20" of ice over most locations. Here at WLFI we have .14" of an inch of ice. How do you measure ice....go find a tree branch and hold your measuring stick out in front or hold it against the base of the branch to get a reading. Find four or five trees and average it out. Our snow board is not doing a good job at this time. I am calling it the slush puppy storm because we had a layer of snow, then some ice, then some more ice with a lot of rain on top of it. So travel is very tricky at best. Our videographer just came in and said that streets are turning into lakes due to this weird mix. It is like we have all these little ice jams causing big problems and of course the ground is still frozen so the water has nowhere to go. It is a good thing we have had a drier than average autumn or this could have caused some major flooding. I will make another call or two and check back with you.
