Winter Storm Watch Tuesday Afternoon & Night

Here we go again we that familiar moist southwest flow aloft meeting our cold polar air mass at the surface once again. I think we will have a mix of snow and sleet tomorrow afternoon between 4 and 8 p.m. with an inch of snow and sleet not out of the question. The good news is our south to southwest wind should kick in quickly during the evening helping to changeover the mix to freezing rain and rain between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. and mostly rain thereafter. This is the timeline for Tippecanoe County southward. If you are north near Monticello add about 2 hours and in our far north including Rensselaer 3 hours to the changeover. I do think amounts will be very similar from south to north. Right now here is my breakdown.

1" of snow and sleet (closer to 2" from Monticello northward)
.10" of freezing rain
1" of a cold rain as tempeatures rise into the middle 30s by Wednesday morning.

I will continue to watch it very carefully for you. If there is some good news it does look like our period of freezing rain will be about half as long as last week with more snow and sleet involved. This could hold down accumulations on powerlines and trees. But we are still watching a developing storm and it is still too early to make a final call on amounts.

Yay! I will see more snow than most of you! :)

Hey everyone lighten up including the regular posters. You treat this site like it's your private email domain. We all need to laugh at ourselves at times and not be so serious. We all like this site. That's why we read it. Mike's comments are interesting reading. EVERYONE have a merry and safe Christmas, snow or no snow.

Hey there bloggers I just had a Very Nice thing happen to my family and I!

I and my sister always go and help out our neighbors and they always say how lucky they are to have such nice people watching out for them! Well one of my neighbors is in her 70s and lives just acrossed the streat from me! So we often stop by and help her out! Scoop her drive when it snows Mow her lawn and just about everything and anything we can do! Even try to give her a Christmas gift every year! Well we just had a pizza guy knock at the door and droped off a larg pizza! When we asked who this was from? He said someone called in and placed an order and said to tell you this is from a greatful friend! I thought that was SSSSSSSooooooooooo Nice of her and just thought I would tell you all about that story!

She knows she did not have to do that! But I still thopught that was the nicest thing!

Merry Christmas everybody!

How nice Justin, I had a sweet experiance today as well.

I was Christmas shopping, I had been up and down the same path of the store several times, in search of that special gift, I knew it just had to be there, I kept thinking I was over looking.. Well one last attempt, when I met up with a lady, we both looked down and saw a one dollar bill. She picked it up it was folded and stapled with a note inside, The note read From Jesus, for those who need a dollar...on and on...She looked at me with wide eyes and asked "what do we do with this?" we both agreed that it was to be left where it was found..However the item the special gift I was looking for, that lady guided me to. We had a nice conversation...and were of help to each other...We all know that a dollar wont go far these days...but that dollar bought a smile, and I met a wonderful Lady..

I hope the next person who finds/found that one dollar bill will receive the same as I did.

That is such a cool story. I think if we all slowed down, we would see the finer things in life that we all walk right by. Christmas, we should all just slow down and appreciate the simple things.

Merry Christmas to all!

-I am wishing for a white Christmas, but safe travel everyone.
