Warmest Weekend of the Year is Here as Nature Lets the Dogs Out!

You can see the amazing turn around on temperatures from Friday morning through Friday evening. We started in the middle to upper teens and rose into the middle 40s. We melted down two inches of snow and most of our snow should be gone by later today.

You can see Kimberly New's cute pug Jersey. Yes, that is Justin's Mom. I have met her and she is just as charming as our son. Where d
o you think he got it from? Speaking of dogs soaking up some sunshine and nice mild weather. I am looking forward to taking my dog on a nice long walk today. We both deserve it and I am glad he will not run from me when I offer to take him outside!

It is hard to believe that our warmest day so far this year was only 46 on January 4th. Today we will beat that by at least 10 degrees with highs in the middle 50s. If we break out into enough sun this afternoon we could hit 60! Last year we had our January thaw early with a few reports of daffodils around the area by January 7th as you can see above! This year we will be watching for a few daffodils to pop early by the middle of next week with temperatures near 60 by Tuesday!

I will check back but for now I am currently doing some Spring cleaning. Have a great and safe weekend and thanks for all the kind thoughts and wishes throughout the week. We certainly have become like a tight-knit family!! :) We all do need to watch out for one another and watch out for winter's return late next week and weekend. One model had a snowstorm over us next weekend. I will check back with more on that later today and we will take a look at our flooding threat which will rapidly rise like the rivers by the middle and end of next week. While I do not see anything resembling last year's historic flood we will have to be on guard. Keep in mind the Wabash watershed extends all the way up into Starke and Marshall counties where they have a lot more snow on the ground. This is what concerns me. Stay tuned and logged on!

I have a suggestion :o
I think it would be fun to meet sometime late Spring or early summer and have a blog cookout or get together. Maybe at a Columbia park shelter. Since times are tough we could bring a covered dish and hamburger or hotdogs for our ownselves.
What do you all think?

Cool T did you get a pic of him or her? I believe the Eagles are now breeding. The female will lay the egg and both male and female will switch on the incubation to scout for food. Once the Eaglet is born the Eagles still switch. My observation from taking pics is that they take turns setting so he survives the cold. I have 3 pics of an eaglet taken in March of 07 so I will be watching some of the nest this weekend to see if they are starting the incubation.

I don`t think so. If everyone that comes here all the time that we know. I think it would be ok.
Could have WLFI make Prang Gang WX 09 T-Shirts up. Food for thought.
It would be interesting hearing some weather stories and experiances.

I did not get a pic, was to far away, and with my good camera being on the blink I could not zoom in close enough..I did sit and watch her through my binoculars, I am almost positive was a female.

I do think a party would be fun..

I will e-mail Mike and see what he thinks. T I may end up selling my camera and updating soon. T ... Canon has a new camera out that is somewhat user friendly. It is a Canon SX10 IS 20 optical zoom. If I can do a little business here at home, I will upgrade and sell my other Canon Camera. Its not quite a yr old yet.

Keep me updated on that, I might be interested..

I have been selling things as well. I found a couple of oil paintings that some one threw out for trash, turns out they were done by a famous Indiana artist, back in the 20's. I got a fair amount of money for them.. I love trash digging, to see me you would never guess that of me LOL! I have found gold, old war metals, antique pottery..fun!

T

I have found many treasures..from gold to antiques.

Darn It bugs the heck out of me when that happens with my post..I thought I deleted the last part.

Thats great!!! No harm in treasure hunting. I did send Mike an e-mail to see what his input would be. If he would be all for it we could let the Bloggers decide a date and go from there.

We are having gust of wind now. Took my Mom to doctor yesterday. She got bit by something and a red streak starting up her arm. Dr. gave her some meds and they are watching it. The bite looked angry. We went for lunch at Abes in Monticello. She had never been there. Becky from Monticello...did you hear Emerson was going to lay off the first of March? Chris and Teri...my hats off to both for your teaching! I have subbed for school corp here and people think teachers have it easy.....NOT! I have the upmost respect for you guys. It takes a special person to deal with children and that many at the same time. I like subbing for special needs the best or LD. So, my hats off to you. I only sub part time as I still have a 4yr old at home. My DD is 12 and loves her middle school teachers.....she likes the ones that have been around for a while and that push them to do her personal best! At one time she wanted to be a teacher and she said....I don't think so anymore....I said why...she is like do you realize what they have to put up with everyday. She said most kids are good, but you have some that just won't do what the teacher asks and then get mouthy. Parents only have to deal with the kids they have everyday. A teacher has to deal with everybodies kids every day. I am like true. I am new to this blog area and enjoy coming on several times a day and reading and posting. To be honest....I didn't know it was here til the past six or so weeks. But felt welcome the first time I came here. Thank you all who said hey and made me feel welcome!

CarrollCoGirl=Jamie, I thought you had been posting longer.. Isnt this a nice blog? Stay posted for some crazy weather is on the way!

Being a sub is not an easy job either! The students always seem to give the Subs a hard time..

Yes some kids do get mouthy, yet, I take time to find what makes them tick, get to know what there intrests are like movies, music, games, ect.

Makes me feel great when walking the halls during passing time, Students go out of their way to say Hi to me..then I here, that is my favorite teacher ever. or that teacher is so cool!

Love working with special needs and LD! they are wonderful people, and many could learn from them!

Nope just been here six weeks. Yes, this is an awesome place. People are wonderful and I am enjoying it. Yes, people are wonderful in here. I know....to hold on the weather as this is IN, LOL amazing how is changes sooooo much. Yeah they give subs a tough time, but it makes me understand at little more why my DD likes her teachers a little more. She has some great teachers. I am kind of proud of my DD as she is a straight A student....She said she loves to learn and nothing better than from a teacher that is into their teaching and making learning fun and exciting.

Would love to meet some of you....but don't feel qualified to come to get together since....I am a newbie....
