Sun Comes Early & We May Challenge Record Highs

The record for today is 64 set back in 1925 and with sunshine expected most of today along with strong south to southwest winds we may see highs challenge this. I will go for a high now in the lower 60s with temperatures already in the lower 50s at 9 a.m. We are waking up with temperatures over 50 degrees warmer than 48 hours ago. Even by Indiana standards this is impressive. I appreciate all the great blogging here on the weekend and all you do. I will see what I can do about T-Shirts and a picnic. I like the idea of having you a part of one of my weathercasts. I will ask for an extra two minutes to fill for interviews with the best bloggers on earth. So start thinking about ideas and I will do my part. The Weather Blogger Picnic 2009 is in the works!!!

I like the idea of the T-Shirts!

Mike, if you need my help on creative design, let me know as I do that almost on a daily basis.

I cannot help it, but I am really thinking about cooking out today. heheheh.

Its weird to see grass on my lawn again since all the snow is melting away. Getting sloppy out there though with the puddles.

Brow you will make all the neighbors mouths water.. most have put up their grills around my hood, I am one of the few who still cooks out..

I feel like steak, and onions. Any kind of onion will do, peal, cut into like a flower, drip olive oil over, salt and pepper, do not rap in foil, than roast on the grill, eat like onion rings, or put on steak. good food. and no fatty breading.

Okay, I just heard the sirens and I know it was the monthly test. Do the sirens go off *every* month? It seems like I haven't heard them in a while. Or were they on today because it's windy? I know, a bit of a naive question and after 5 years of living here you'd think I'd know by now. ;D

The picnic sounds exciting! Maybe I'll come out :)

Oh and the temp where I am located is 54.1* Love it!

Well I had about 10 minutes to kill and I came up with a quick idea on the t-shirts.

Click here for rough idea t-shirt sketch.

I know that its kinda nerdy, but maybe we could spin some ideas off it? Another idea that I had was doing some kind of Doppler radar design...would be kind of cool.

Neat Brow, is that a self portrait or your perspective of what bloggers look like LOL! Acutally I love it!

Pretty windy here in Attica, still enjoying the temps also.

Scott, I just went and renewed my boat license. So I a have all my BMV stuff done for the yr. If it wasnt for the ice on the river. I would have been out on the river today soaking in the warm temperatures.

Jaime your not a newbie you are here pretty frequent which is great.

Going out to try to gets some pics.

God Bless,

I am seeing rain in the forcast for tonight, and heavy rain for tomorrow, flooding is a concern for Monday!

Anonymous said...

Justin,
Use a spatula and press real hard, then them there hotdogs would be really good. :) lol
Just kidding you!!! You all need to stop talking about grilling out....grrrrrrrrr. We gave our gas grill away when we moved, so Brow and Justin your not helping out much here on the blog for me. I forgive you though you have made me reminance for a short time, until I went to McDonalds. Hope you enjoy the weather while it lasts and your meal while it digest.
Bloggers, I have been out most of the day taking picks and OH MY GOODNESS some places have thawed the ground atleast 3-4 inches. I journed down to the bottom of Williamsport falls and falls I had when trying to get back up the muddy hill. It was rewarding with a couple of good pictures.

If we have a bloggers picnic with a cook out, I nominate Brow and Justin to man handle the grill. :)

I forgot to tell you all that when I went out to get into the car I had a honeybee on the window of the car. He was pretty slow acting so I think he was still partially dormant. I hope the early sign of a honey bee is an early spring. Have not seen any skunks on the road (know what I mean) so guess them critters are still in a deep sleep.

Anonymous said...

The food was good Richard! :-)

And yes about the muddy mess outside today! I walked out to the yard and my shoes went two inches in the ground! YUCK! lol..

Sounds like you got some good pictures though! And that you for forgiving us! Ha! ;)

Justin.

Teri is correct, the moon is lovely tonight.

What a dfference a week makes. Last week, the drifts along SR 35 in Starke and LaPorte county were impressive, even without all of this week's lake effect snow. Today, those drifts were almost gone. I am sure all of the will be gone in the next few days.

I really enjoyed today!!!!

I dont know about that, some woman are wonderful, better than men when it comes to cooking on the grill. Most men I know either undercook or over good, a bloody mess or leather:)

Anonymous said...

According to the Old wives tale we are suppose to have 30 snow events this season. how many have we had so far?

Anonymous said...

All bloggers catching up on their rest? quiet tonight.

Katie! I tried to send an email today and got a "not our customer" message. Did you change companies?

Hi gang....Brow I LOVE the T-shirt design! I had to laugh today. Backed out of the 50* garage into 58* HUMID air and the windows fogged over! But hey, I can WALK and I can DRIVE today with no ice...it's a good day! Literally all snow melted and I think the layer of ice underneath did, too. It was a beauty! I had to fight the urge to just drive somewhere to get out. I would have just spent money I don't have so talked myself into staying home. I did get out into the air and it was GREAT!

Temp is down to 46*

do you think tornadoes will come this Tue night or Wed..for Logansport? rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Anonymous said...

I DO think that we are in for our first severe round of 2009 on Wednesday.....tornadoes? A real possibility....if I had to GUESS right now....I would say the Terre Haute to Columbus area might be the most at risk.....it is still early....I think we all go back to winter in one week!!

I am now awake after a lonf winters nap...lol took a nap after I got home and ended up into overtime. Argh!! Hope I am not up all night. I dont want to fall asleep in Church tomorrow. Teri, The moon is a picture to be taken! I hope that you can get you a camera since you have a passion for taking pictures.
Logansport, I have not heard of any official severe weather in the future, perhaps a chance of thunderstorms Weds.

Richard

Anonymous said...

Chris, glad to see that your stil awake!!! Did you enjoy the day today? Hope we dont get that severe weather with Tornadic activity. I am looking towards the thunderstorms.. Seems like it always sparks a little green to the grass, especially in the Spring.

Scott,
Post you boat on the WLFI classifieds and put a picture of it. Alot of people around here are looking for boats. Tax time is here and people do tend to buy something for themselves so you may have a pretty good chance of selling it. Maybe sometime we can hook up and fish a tournament!

Brow, I really like the T-shirt. Great design. Do you have T-shirt shop in the area, might be interested in some for our 4 person state dart team

Morning all! Woke to temps about 15 degrees colder than yesterday morning. I show a temp of 31*!

Looks to be a nice day to get out and enjoy, with little wind:)

Richard, I do hope to get a new camera someday, I still have my little Vivitar, so I am still able to get some okay shots, just cant adjust shutter speed of zoom as close as I would like.

Enjoy the day all..the weather for next week sounds like it could be a bit scary!

My son fixed a turducin on the grill the first of January. It was funny to watch him in a winter coat and cooking on the grill. We could get him to man the grill for the bloggers picnic. He has been to chef school. I would love to meet all the bloggers. I didn't know we wer suppose to get thunderstorms this week. We can't get WLFI on our dish but I always come here to find out what is going on. Kingman just doesn't have a thing.

Brow....nice shirt idea! Yesterday was so pretty, was down in Lafayette with girls in the family doing a little shopping for my DD as she has a birthday coming up. Richard saw six eagles lined up as I came across the carrollton bridge....i kid you not, they looked like they were lined up for a buffet.....three on each side about 50yrds apart. I had not seen that many together. No Camera either....cell pics did show enough clarity. Ugh..

We have a bird house on our porch and the birds has started to make their nest in it. It is nice to see the snow melted but can't walk in the yard without sinking upto your knees in mud.

Ugh....snow melts.....mole holes pop up....how beautiful...dead grass and mounds of mud....Ok...enough with the hints of spring. Bring the snow back to hide the ugly stuff. LOL

MA,
No did not change e-mail. Wonder why that happened?

Anonymous said...

40 degrees here! Oh yeah feel it is time to get some clothes hung out on the line. I am ready to opening the windows and get the stale winter air out. Not for sure if I want to wade across the mucky yard to hang stuff. Going to give it a couple more hours before I get them out...brrr still chilly.

I hung my laundry on the line yesterday, did not take long to dry, was so windy.

Is now 38* in Laf. I walked out to my car and stepped in a puddle of melted stuff, went over my shoes, had to change shoes and socks, now that was chilly LOL!

Hey all long night last night wastching weather!

I have a current temperature of 39.2* degrees and still rising.

Little cooler today but still a nice one! Teri watch where you walk! lol.....

Justin.

Anonymous said...

Jamie,

I know about those puppy prints.
My two large dogs run like the wind when I let them out! One will wait at the door for me to wipe his feet, the other darts in and jumps right on the sofa..I have to wait for the mud to dry, then use my little handy, dandy vacuum!

About the laundry, my hands did get a bit chapped from handling the wet close and hanging on the line. But was worth it:)
