I Love You All Too!! Now Let's Get Ready for A Wild Week!

I wanted to settle everybody down on here! Your wonderful e-mails of concern over the weekend did draw me to tears. I have to admit that. But remember this blog has never been about me. It really is about all of you and most of all our wonderful Indiana weather. So let's keep it that way. I just cannot comment on any of the rumors nor do I address rumors on this blog unless they are about weather. Life is too short and besides we have too much weather to be concerned about. Just remember I am not going anywhere anytime soon.

Now for our weather...the latest models have three to six inches of snow for Lafayette between now and next Sunday morning with another half-inch to one inch of rain on the way. The rivers need to be watched closely and the big thing is that none of the models are agreeing on anything because the main storm coming our way is still over the Pacific Ocean and there is a lack of data. This means we could have forecast issues not just with the timing of the rain, snow, and mixed bag of precipitation but amounts which has a huge bearing on the Wabash River. I will do my best as always to keep you ready for everything nature throws our way, but this is certainly one forecast that could still change. Stay logged on and stay tuned!

Mike,
I am glad your not going anywhere soon. You are an upbeat person and a very great guy and mentor! You know you have allot of family here on the blog (sure makes one proud of accomplishments) that does care about you.

Wow what a change!!! Mike was calling for rain and now 3-6 inches of snow. Rain 1/2" to 1" possible.
Hope the pattern does change. I am sorry snow lovers but I am ready for Spring!

Justin,
what do you make out of this? Are we going to get the rain first and then snow. I know the last posting was an all rain event Tues night into Wednesday

I think it will be a mostly rain event and then a change over to snow. However snow will be light around lafayette only around a inch or so.

I think the better chance for snow is still going to be this weekend with another Alberta Clipper coming down. Currently it could bring 2" to 4" inches possible.

I do agree with mike as models are kinda wild with this coming storm for Tomorrow night into Wednesday. I currently have around a half inch of rain for Wednesday with still the chance for more this is why we will watch it closely!!
All this looks to start tomorrow night after Midnight.

We will just have to keep all posted as it keeps getting closer with the latest.

I think winds will could be a problem as well!

I think that cold front could really fly, and winds could be high

Yes winds will be gusty with a few gusts to 30 mph.

One thing that will need to be watched closely will be the storm track for Wednesday! If it goes more to the north then what some models show we could easily see closer to the one inch mark!

The rivers don't need that!

Gosh, not to wish anyone anything bad, but could you guys do your best to keep that heavy snow and rain away from my area??? We still reel at the thought of melting snow along with rain up here, and points east and west, since Jan 8-9, 2008.

Enjoy the calm while we can and ---brace yourselves, LOL! Thanks for the update, Mike! WE love ya!

Lets hold our breath and hope it decides to go south of us. I can deal with 1/2" of rain but no more.
I got to much of that little bit of warm weather and it really spoiled me.

i would rather see the snow and cold (28 degree range) and dry for about a week plus to let the rivers go down. This way, the snow would slowly evaporate and the melt might be less severe then the 2.65 inches caused.

Mike, great to hear you are around for a while. Having lived in a few major markets and some other smaller ones too, you are the best I have ever seen at doing this job. You sincerely care about the community and the people, not your image. If you do go, we will have lost a great citizen as much as we have lost a geat weatherman.

go to WLFI homepage click on ABOUT US and click on EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. This is no slam to anyone but Mike cant say anything but WLFI can give information.

I took a look....and it seems to be official. I can't say too much for fear of getting to emotional at this early point in time. Like I have said before....we need to enjoy this time while we can. This blog is about so much more than weather. Maybe it is hokey...but this is all about Life!! We have such a good thing going, and all good things must eventually come to an end. I appreciate Mike's comments....but Mike is selling himself short. Yes...this was centered around him, and his words of wisdom.... words of warning....words of encouragement....I will have more to say later.

You know this blog will be here but in the future under a new name. I believe Mike will be here until his children finish school. Lets soak in the warmth of Mikes blog and his passion for Indiana's weather. Hang in there peeps. When Mike does go I bet he will keep in touch. I think a big slumber party in FL next Spring would be great ;) Anyways whoever takes his place lets back him or her 100%. I think that would be Mikes request from all.
