It's Snowing! Dusting Just the Beginning of Our Snowstorm

I am at a fortified, undisclosed location on my lap top computer. The snow buzz has overtaken all of the Lafayette viewing area and it is all folks are talking about. So I had to find a quiet place away from all distractions to focus on our biggest snowstorm of the season. It is the meteorologist's version of Camp David...will be back with update on snowstorm shortly. Here is a picture of the first dusting from our storm. Make sure to send in plenty of pictures and totals for me and keep up the great job!

it is snowing really good here on the east side of Lafayette right now. Indy is now forecasting 6-12 for them, and has from Lebanon north to Chalmers in a 4-6 inch band....

bring it on....

It has been coming down fairly steady for the past 30 min in Attica. Cars, sidewalks, and streets covered. No one is out, so it looks beautiful. Off to open all the windows to enjoy the scenery.

Any idea on what travel to Indy might be tonight???

It is snowing pretty good here in Waynetown. I saw on one of the indy stations that here in Montgomery county, we could get 6-12 inches...I say as long as everybody gets home safely from work/school, bring it on!!

I am sticking with 5-8 for this area....some places NW will be closer to 5 - areas closer to Anderson/Muncie will be near 7-8

Latest out of Indy: 8-12 inches with isolated amounts of 14" if we stay all snow. This could be a big one for the central part of the state

I think that it will be interesting to see how the folks at the NWS react....will they do a WSWarning or a Heavy Snow Warning? How far north will they extend it??

Indy is expecting a Winter Storm Warning to be issued in the next couple of hours.

Where did you get the 8-12/14 numbers??

I think that lafayette has a good chance to be included in the winter storm warning if and when issued. Hopefully this is the one that we have been waiting on the whole year. It has been very slow this season.

OK I like the way the storm is shaping up! Currently some of the latest models haved showed it moving more north again and looking at the radar we are looking to stay in this trian of snow!

I will be bold and say 3" to 7" give me another hour and I might go to 4" to 8" range We don't want to go nuts yet!

So for now no less then 3 no more then 7 is what the range means!

We still have time and I will be back I'M still looking for 4" to 8" as a snow lover time will tell..........

Wish TV at noon. They also said that in the heavy bands that we could see up to 1-2" per hour. The heavy bands keep sliding north. I am interested to see what Mike thinks

Mike says Lafayette will have a winter storm warning in his latest blog. I live in Logansport and he said we could get 4-6 here. Keep coming north baby.
