Blog Update Coming at 12:30 a.m. With Updated Totals

The one thing I am concerned about is that folks get impatient with this storm. It is huge and covers over an area from Texas to Maine with moisture being drawn into it all the way from the Pacific Ocean! We have had 11 straight hours of snow with at least another 11 hours of snow on the way. I think we pick up most of our heavier snow between now and 6 a.m. It should come out to another 3 inches with an additional inch of accumulation tomorrow morning.

So folks that went to bed thinking things will be a piece of cake with this storm will have a rude awakening when they wake-up and hopefully they remember to slow down and allow plenty of time to get to work. It is not worth risking your life in this weather. This is another reason a winter storm warning would have worked better because it means folks take the storm more seriously. You never let your guard down with the weather in Indiana. The storm isn't over until it's over.

Agree 100% about the warning!!! Should have been issued after the conference call. Horrible decision.

WE HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO with this storm.....I agree with Mike...another 3 inches BARE MINIMUM!!! Many spots will see more than 3 more inches...esp south and east of Lafayette.

Great to have this blog....we are fortunate!!

My fiance left work in Frankfort at 8, said 65 northbound had no traffic, but he took 52 anyway. Said it was so bad he drove no faster then 30 mph. He didn't get home until after 9. He was driving his work van, said his van was allover the road. And he has to get up in the morning and go back there. He is hoping the bosses say stay home.

When the superintendent decides at 4 am that the roads are either safe or unsafe. He is doing it with say his 30 years expierence of driving he isnt thinking about the lets say 2000 students that have either just obtained there liscens or had it maybe a year. which puts the students at even more of a risk. no matter how much they are sure of their driving skills its different when there is ice under the snow.
Now I'm not one of those who's scare of driving in the snow infact i love it, i just don't do it because of those people who don't know how to handle there vehicle in this weather.
In this situation I don't worry about driving in it, I worry about who is driving in these conditions when i leave my house to go to work.

Justin....yeah, I think you answered what I was looking for. I will take another measurement in a few minutes. I was at 4 inches about an hour and a half ago....I figure I have at least 4-5 more inches to go.....based upon what I see downstream....

Should not give names of past clients d/t HIPPA privacy laws

Anonymous said...

No i didnt know that, i havent talked to anyone from CDC in sometime now. I am not sure about clients that were based out of Indy they split me off from the rest of the old TLC gang, they went to a Rescare branch off Allisonville Rd in indy and being north i went with the Sheridan branch...I know Michael still works there not sure about any of the others i used to work with..

by HIPPA regs you can use initials only even in company email subject lines ;)

Wish i could predict the future so i knew if i was driving to lafayette in the morning or not LOL I am getting very tired!!
