Thank you Mike for spending your Sunday keeping us updated.

I wish I knew what the wind speeds were when the line hit Laf. I heavy potted plants on a table in
front of south window, I could not believe they were blown down.Happend so fast.Winds much stonger than 60mph I would bet.

The winds are awful here. I tried to get pics of the sky just after the storm but could not hold steady for the wind was too strong.

Ma I posted on an older post as you did as the storm was moving in.

Be safe all.

Our vinyl fence has surrived all the past storms, but this afternoon the wind took out two whole sections and just splintered it to pieces when that line of storms hit.

Wow..just got back from taking pics of Carpenter Creek south of town. We traveled the path of the creek and took many pics. There is no flooding, other than fields, anywhere but in the town of Remington, namely right along us and our neighbor's in the "hood". We have pics of where the trouble starts to send to DNR, and whoever needs to get them. Well, now you all dont want to know that! We should not be that flooded with just 2.00 inches rain.

I DID record a gust at 51 mph just a bit ago! Whoa! That's puffin' right along. I hope there is no major damage in the area. We did seem some shingles flapping on a roof and my plastic has all been ripped off the frames on the deck. It has made it all winter in the high winds, but not today!

No wine here. Just mud since I don't have grass in the back yard that I had to slosh to to get to that car top. I figure my neighbors don't come on here, so I'm safe from causing problems. Even if they do, it's not like we talk I don't even know the guy's name that owns the house and car in question. I grew up in tornado alley and I can honestly say this was the first time I've ever had to lift a car roof out of my yard; let alone over my fence. I face the back of the guy's house so I don't know what kind of car it was, but I'm glad it wasn't mine!

PS--I do have bottle of home-made wine in the house, if I didn't still have things to get done tonight I'd pop it. ^^

What is a car top? Is it the topper off a pickup or what? how can a roof blow off a car?

thanks.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I've got the same question too. A car rooftop? Does that mean the actual roof of the car or a convertible roof?

Geez I wish this wind would let up!

Not only did my plants blow over in my home!!
My chimney top for my fire place is almost blown off, ashes blowing everywhere in the house. My House is tall. What a drag.. I cannot believe how quick that squall moved though and how strong it was.

Mike said on TV in areas winds were around 70mph or so in some areas.

The heavy feeling of the sky is gone for now and is nice other than the wind.

Glad all are okay.

Take care all

Teri

All I know what was it was black metal and the guy called it his car's top, so I took his word for it since I had no idea what else it could be. I so should have got pics! I mean honestly how many times does this happen? I've gtg, lol.

Maybe the hood of his car.. the winds were very strong to lift one that was not secure.

In Flora we had a roof blow completely off of a church, power outages and down trees and lots of limbs. The wind isn't letting up at all!

Anonymous said...

Was a bad storm, thank goodness for Mike and his blog and bloggers.

Sorry about the church, Drats!

I'm glad everyone is safe.
Now we just have to watch out for Tuesday. UGH!!

I wish we would of got a better winter snow wise...to much ice and not enough snow...now if the bad storms miss us like the snow did!!! My parents are from Northern Minn and as a kid I remember the Christmas spent there..oh my the untouched beauty! I took my mom home a few years ago and took a friend with us...I had told her that you could smell the fresh pine tress like nothing you smell here...(she thought I was nuts ) well she still talks about how you can smell the pine ! But the snow in the forrest was so beautiful I'll never forget lol or the Blizzard we hit in Wis on the way home! Take-care all you bloggers and ty for making this such a nice blog to come and read! I am the kind of guy who loves to try unused stuff. Presently I am manufacturing my personalized pv panels. I'm making it all alone without the aid of my men. I'm using the internet as the only path to acheive that. I came across a truly brilliant site which explains how to contruct pv panels and so on. The site explains all the steps required to solar panel construction.

I'm not sure bout how precise the information given there is. If some experts over here who had experience with these things can have a look and give your feedback in the site it will be awesome and I would extremely treasure it, cauze I truly love solar panel construction.

Tnx for reading this. U guys are the best.
