Thunderstorms With Lightning & Heavy Downpours on the Way

Forget the packing of the suit case. I will just get on the plane tomorrow morning with my family. That is all that really matters, doesn't it. Speaking of keeping everybody's family safe, there is a line of thunderstorms in Illinois that I have been tracking. It will not warrant a weather watch for us here in Indiana but it should still have plenty of lightning, heavy downpours, and wind gusts near 40 mph by time it arrives in our viewing area after 10 p.m.

Severe weather reports in Illinois have been very sporadic and this line has gone from producing near 10,000 bolts of lightning per hour down to about 6,000 bolts per hour as of 8:41 p.m. It will continue to weaken as it moves into a more stable air mass here at home, but it should be quite a dazzling light display and some areas could still pick up a quick one to two inches of rain. I will keep you updated.

According to Kelly's last tv update there may be more significant storms and heavy rain later this evening, it will be worse if more daytime sunshine.

Looking dark again in Monticello...no trace of the sun but much cooler right now.

Just went outside and the clouds are screaming by.

Glad to see the warnings back off a bit and everyone is still good to go.

Was there really a touchdown in BC last night?

Just found this regarding Benton County.

-------------
In Benton County, the Emergency Management Agency received reports of a tornado touchdown around 12:25 a.m. Tuesday. The tornado, which reportedly touched down about three miles southeast of Boswell, has not yet been confirmed. The EMA says two tool sheds and several grain bins were destroyed. A home suffered minor damage and there were no injuries.

Yeah Mike needs to set up a chat room for us. :p

I've read that the storms shouldn't be as crazy as they were last night but they should contain some of the same elements.

Thanks Justin. Are the Lafayette roads still flooded now?

Hey all here is some of the %.

I don't think a time line is going to work this time around take a look at the %. Between 6:00pm and 8:00pm for Laf is a 40% chance of pricp as for REM a 30% chance when earlyer we had a 50% chance so I say we just wait and see how it plays out maybe we will miss out on it!
