The models are showing a late burst of snow with the heaviest snow between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. In this six hour time frame we will likely see 4 to 6 inches or about an inch of snow per hour. The latest runs have Lafayette now receiving a little less snow....
Model#1
Lafayette 8"
Remington 8"
Monticello 10"
Rochester 11"
Fort Wayne 12"
Model #2
Lafayette 7"
Remington 6"
Monticello 9"
Rochester 10"
Fort Wayne 12"
We will keep you updated with this storm. This is a developing storm. I will post the new storm timeline shortly and of course have much more on the news at 11 p.m. We still need to take this storm seriously with plenty of wind and heavy snow on the way. Thundersnow if it does occur would bring some isolated amounts up to 10" here in Tippecanoe County...so we should not write off this storm and we will have to watch it very closely.

Alright White County...looks like it's on its way...call the delays!
Atleast Tri County has some common sense! How about it Twin Lakes and North White! Let's show our intelligence.
Hey Twin Lakes administrators GET OUT OF BED and at least call a delay!!
i could have sworn around 8;30pm that i read on here that twin lakes had cancelled school and when i went to look at it again it was gone, Did anyone else see it ?? and whats this now they are saying maybe a possibilty of not getting as much as was predicted
Does anyone have any snow. We don't. Is anyone in Illinois reading this? Do you have any snow? Where is the snow.
My brother in law is supposed to take to work in the morning. I don't know what to tell him. Should I tell him to forget it? I need advice.
Mike: What about Indianapolis for the snow forecast model?
I saw the Twin Lakes announcement, too! My boys go to North White, and we assumed when we saw TL cancelled, that we would be too. But then it was gone. So I sent them off to bed. Who knows what's going to happen! BRING ON THE SNOW! : ) Keep it up Mike!
ahh faith christian had better have at least a delay and not one of those one-hour things either...whee private schools!
hey, i live just south of indianapolis, near beach grove and the snow has started to fall !!!!
hey-knock it off and be nice.
My kids go to Frontier I'm tired of the last minute decision to delay or close!!!! Geting three kids up and ready is hard enough to just have the administrators sit around scratching there heads not knowing what to do then make a last minute decision. Get with it already!!!!
Okay time for ALL children of ANY age to scoot off to bed now :-) Once again Mother Nature taught forecasters that SHE will do what she wants to! Great job keeping us informed, Mike!
I for one am glad the snow may not be as heavy as was predicted. We up here, and along the Tippy, don't need heavy snow that will melt quickly with the forecast of storms with heavy rain. None of us need a repeat performance of Jan 7/8th!
I have maybe 1.5 inches snow here and now I lay me down to sleep! Nytol :-)

WLFI needs to give Mike 5 minutes more during weather events, cuz they certainly don't have anything more to give... sorry, but true. It's all about the weather, but Mike seemed to have to RUSH thru tonight's forcast!!! SHAMEFUL!! Not Mike's fault!!! It's WLFI's ever-growing-apart-from-their-audience's-wishes!!! FOR
SHAME!!!!!!!! And, so OBVIOUS!!! FOR SHAME!!!!!! Going to satellite!!! Don't care anymore... especially due to DULL WLFI uninformative morning show!!!!!!! Mike RULES!!!! Will miss him SOOOOOO much!!!! WLFI, you're such crass, unprofessional, uninvolved, uncaring, non-local fools!!!!! Buh-bye!!!!!
does anyone know if ivy tech in lafayette is closed?
I see it snowing BARELY, I live by the Tippacanoe Mall, guess the weatherman missed this storm big time
If some of you think you can do a better job forecasting go ahead! Producing an accurate forecast isn't as easy as you may think. The snow is on the way! Whether we get 8" vs. 12" it is still a lot of snow and a big storm that will impact people's lives. It has been my observation that weatherteam 18 has done a fantastic job forecasting the several heavy snow events over the past year and this one seems to be on track as well. How do I know? I am a Meteorologist myself and a faithful viewer and Mike and his weatherteam seem to be doing a wonderful job! Keep up the good work!
ok
Mike is leaving???
I am thankful to Mike and his entire staff at WLFI. These folks work very hard at what they do and deserve much more accolades than we give them. It is a very tough job to forecast the weather, that affects so many of us.
Anonymous...please go away. Find some other place to spout you negativity...It is truly saddening. I want to uplift these people who are working to keep us safe and secure in our homes...and to keep us informed of the latest forecasts and state of the art diagnostics. You guys are great...Thanks.

I find it funny that everyone always blames the weather man for the changing weather. If you think that you can do better then become a meteorologist just let us all know where you go to broadcast the weather so we can get on your blog and complain, call you names and make rude comments each time you are wrong!! Keep up the good work Mike your team is doing the best it can a predicting the unpredictable Indiana weather :)
